Air Filter Grommet's: Aftermarket Replacement

8/26/2017

I've sourced an aftermarket BUNA-N rubber grommet that will replace the damaged one in common filters like the Super EZ, Super XL, C-72, 2100, XL-76, XL-123, XL-925, 550 etc...  The hardest part of this upgrade is cleaning up the old goo!

I've just uploaded over 20 IPL's of internationally sold Homelite chainsaw models.  You can find them on my chainsaw IPL page: http://www.leonschainsawpartsandrepair.com/parts-diagrams.html or you can find individual links in my post on House of Homelite: http://houseofhomelite.proboards.com/thread/5866/international-homelite-chainsaw-ipls

House Of Homelite

Have you ever searched the web for a place where other Homelite saw owners could communicate, share pictures of their saws and ask for help with their saws?  Obviously there is Facebook, but honestly, how many more misspelled, grammatically incorrect, nonsensical posts do you want to read?  Besides, forums inherently offer much better organization of information and offer better search ability.  There's a better option for Homelite fans: the House Of Homelite forums hosted through ProBoards!  House Of Homelite has been out there for over a decade, but kind of fell on some hard times the past 5 years as original members dispersed, several key members passed away and the original owner moved on to other interests.  The past few years, a few of us "die-hards" have refused to let the forum wither away and now there's been a huge change: House Of Homelite is under new ownership!  That's right, I've purcahsed the forum and already there's been some great changes and upgrades.
  1. The outdated vendor boards have been removed and replaced with boards for active members with parts & services to offer Homelite fans.
  2. The various spammers that worked there way in have had their posts removed and are permanently banned.  New spammers will face the same fate.
  3. The Homelite chainsaw "family" categories have been expanded and in some cases broken into more detailed groups.  Here we will try to capture as much model specific information as possible to make it easier to find down the road.
  4. The Hardware Store has been cleansed of years of out of date for sale & want ads.  Going forward, these sections will be maintained by regularly removing out of date ads so that only current ads are seen.
  5. New moderators have been appointed to help keep the board organized and free of rif-raff.  I visit multiple times each day, but it never hurts to have help.  Additionally, these members are two of the most kind and helpful people I've met on the web.  When you see undee70ss or sweepleader respond to one of your posts, you know you're going to get a quality answer.
  6. A new link has been added to the navigation bar called "Recently Updated Posts".  Clicking this will give you an easy to browse list of all new posts.
  7. A new board has been added to the Hardware Store for posting interesting Homelite equipment found on Ebay & craigslist.  This is intended to help other members find the parts or saws that they are looking for.
A lot has happened during this first week!  So please give House Of Homelite a try today!

Homelite Lawn/Garden IPL's

1/14/2017

Due to the relatively high level of inquiries about parts for Homelite string trimmers, blowers and other yard equipment, I"ve started scanning my IPL's.  I've started with the most common equipment (string trimmers, multi-purpose saws, blowers & hedge trimmers) and like the chainsaws were, this will be a slow process as I have time.  At this point though, I do have (37) posted, mostly for the 80's and very early 90's equipment.  These IPL's are on the same page as all the rest under a new tab called "Homelite Lawn Eqt. IPL's".  If you don't see what you need, let me know and I'll dig through the books!

Information Pages Better Organized

12/20/2016

As I've added new catalogs, IPL's and other information to the IPL & Homelite Literature page, I've been unhappy with how far you have to scroll to get to the bottom. Weebly has added the "tabs" function, so I've usd that to clean up both pages, rather than make a unique page for each section. The IPL page has tabs for "Homelite Chainsaw IPL", "Homelite Carburetor IPLS" & "Homelite Service Memo's". The Homelite literature page has "Homelite Chainsaw Magazine Ads & Articles", "Homelite Chainsaw Product Spec Sheets" & "Homelite Product Catalogs". Also coming to the Literature page soon is a new tab for the Homelite dealer's newsleter "Sawdust". This set that was purchased by a fellow Homelite enthusiast is in the process of being scanned for posting...it's only missing a few months from 1954 up to the 90's!

Restoration & Paint Tip Page

10/16/2016

After multiple requests and countless emails about paint colors, I finally put a bit of time into a restoration page.  There's some basic information about the paint, primer & clear coat I've been using and why I chose them.  As I get more time, I plan to add information on saw dissassembly, parts preparation and reassembly.  I'd also like to put together information that others have found useful.  So send me an email with anything you'd like posted and how you'd like me to credit your contribution!

Repair & Tip Videos Page

I've added another page to the website to highlight some of the repair & tip videos that are on Youtube.  I'm not putting everything here, but any video that could help other Homelite fans with saws will be added.  I add videos fairly often, so be sure to check back from time to time.  So grab a cup of coffee and see what's going on at Leon's Chainsaw Parts & Repair!

Green Machine String Trimmers

6/26/2016

If you have a Green Machine string trimmer or brush-cutter, you know that parts can be exceedingly hard to find, especially for units built under the HMC era.  I recently acquired a decent lot of NOS parts for these units, so if you have an old trimmer that's been collecting dust, check out my Green Machine section.  I may have what you need to get your old Green Machine string trimmer going!

I've revamped my Youtube channel and I plan to post many videos of repairs on Homelite chainsaws.  A customer of mine (and good friend) really thought it would be appreciated by folks looking for repair tips, so why not!  It'll take time to build up the "library", but follow me now so you don't miss anything!  Here's my introductory video:

It's not very often that I come across NOS Homelite chainsaw parts from the 50's, but this latest batch has been the exception!  I don't think I've ever seen a 7-29 handle bar for sale, let alone one that is brand new.  There have been 9-23 to 995G parts, such as the choke lever pictured above, a manual oil pump button & lever, gaskets, muffler parts, seals and more.  I also currently have 7-19, 770 & Zip series cylinder covers in blue, green and red.  If you're working on a Homelite saw from the 50's, I may have what you need to finish it off!
