Leon's Chainsaw Parts & Repair: History
Located in the United States, in Southern Oregon's Rogue Valley
As you've already figured out, I'm Leon and I run this site! Leon's Chainsaw Parts & Repair officially debuted on Ebay in July of 2011. But it all began years earlier when I discovered that I could buy used Homelite chainsaws and parts. At first, I was just buying parts to repair my old Homelite Super XL. Then I realized I could buy non-running chainsaws, fix them up and resell them. Any local Homelite dealers were long since out of business or changed over to the modern stuff, so I turned to buying NOS parts lots to get what I needed. But those lots contained much more than just the parts I needed for the models that I work on. It didn't take long for the boxes of unused parts to pile up.
So I finally started a store on Ebay and quickly realized that I had a found an untapped niche in the chainsaw parts market! Most sellers at the time didn't bother with the small parts, choosing to focus instead on the more popular, high dollar items. I wanted to be a provider of anything Homelite, big or small, expensive or economical. As I found more and more obsolete parts, my store grew and sometime in 2014, I surpassed the other sellers and my store had more unique Homelite part numbers than any other seller on Ebay! I'm still proud of that and proud to be offering the wide selection of parts through this website.
You might be wondering why I chose to leave Ebay? It was a difficult decision, but in the end it came down to the fact that Ebay began to re-define my business practices for me! The spirit of Ebay has changed a lot and what I am doing no longer fits into Ebay's ever-changing seller requirements. I pride myself on excellent customer service and I believe I can deliver BETTER customer service through my own store than I ever could selling on Ebay. I ship the same or next day 95% of the time. I provide tracking information for every package and I back up my parts. If I make a mistake, I will make it right!
Another reason I moved to this site is that I feel a need to more integrate my passion for Homelite chainsaw into the business. After all, the business was formed to support my "habit"! On this site you will find a collection of old magazine ads, product catalogs, specification sheets, pictures, illustrated parts list and more! A collection is worth nothing if you can't share it with other enthusiasts, so that's what I'm trying to do. Be sure to click on "Parts Diagrams" and "Homelite History" to go back in time....but make sure you've got a little time to spare before you do!

Frequently Asked Questions
- How do I place an order?
My business primarily operates through online orders, like many other e-commerce businesses. Simply browse the parts you need, add them to your shopping cart and when you are done, check out via Paypal.
- Do you accept other payment methods than Paypal & Square?
I currently only accept Paypal & Square for online orders. I do not maintain a separate merchant account with any credit card providers or other online payment facilitators, so I do not process payments over the phone. If Paypal or Square do not work for you for some reason, contact me and we should be able to work out an alternate payment method. - Do you ship internationally?
Absolutely! Rates do tend to change regularly and can be expensive for larger orders. I encourage international buyers to know their country's import laws (I will not intentionally mark a shipping manifest with a lower package value to avoid customs duties). - I see you are out of stock...when will you have more?
My parts come from closed shops/dealers and I have no way of knowing when I will receive more inventory of a given item. - I don't see an item listed for sale; do you happen to have it in stock?
All of my New Old Stock inventory is listed here on the website. I do not have a "bone pile" of old saws or a stash of old parts. If you don't see it listed, I probably don't have it.
- Do you buy new old stock (NOS) parts and/or used chainsaws?
I do buy NOS Homelite, McCulloch & Pioneer parts. I'm a small business, so size does matter...if you have a huge inventory that you value at $10K, I'm not the right guy. But if your stock can reasonably be shipped across country to Oregon, let's talk! My focus is 1960's to late 1990's parts; I'm not into the post 2000 stuff and I'm definitely not into Husky's or Stihl's. My chainsaw collection has gotten huge, so I don't buy nearly as many saws as I used to, but it can't hurt to drop me a line! - Can I send you my chainsaw to have you repair it?
I do not accept power equipment for repair. The equipment in my collection takes up all my repair time. Please reference my youtube videos for information on common repairs of old Homelite, McCulloch & Pioneer chainsaws, along with extensive videos on various 2-stroke chainsaw carburetor repairs. www.youtube.com/channel/UCRwdKlJH5y6GHRrmq-rTU9g
- How do I contact you, there isn't a phone number listed?
There isn't a phone number posted anywhere on this site...that's not a mistake. I'm the sole-proprietor of this business, I have a M-F 8AM to 5PM job, I have 2 children and next to no "spare" time! Unfortunately my day job is not conducive to receiving calls and I certainly don't have my massive inventory memorized! I typically work on the website and shipping at odd hours. The business I envisioned was primarily web-based; almost all questions or issues can be worked out via email (which I can respond to @ 4:30 in the morning!). I know this is a non-traditional business model, but it works! 99% of all questions can be answered via email. Please use my contact form; I respond to all emails received: https://www.leonschainsawpartsandrepair.com/contact.html

Returns
Parts New or Used
For new or used parts I will accept returns if the buyer contacts me within (14) days of receipt to arrange a return. I describe my parts in as much detail as possible, list applicable part numbers and try to offer good, clear pictures. Once in a while I’ll miss something or mis-identify something. In those cases I will refund the entire purchase price and refund you for return shipping. In all other cases, I will accept the part(s) back, but you pay the return shipping and I refund the purchase price only. If you have any questions, please email me!
Complete Restored/Refurbished Chainsaws:
I do not accept returns on running chainsaws. This is for the simple fact that I’m not in the business of giving “test drives” for chainsaws. While there aren’t many dishonest folks out there, there’s enough to spoil the fun. I’ve received saws back that are seized from running straight gas. I've received saws that had missing and broken parts. Therefore I don’t accept returns on saws! In the rare occasion that you have an issue with a saw I’ve sold as a good runner, please contact me and I will make it right! It is rare, but things do happen. I will work with the buyer on a case by case basis to deal with those rare occasions. Should we (the buyer and I) decide that the saw should be returned, I will refund the entire purchase price and but the BUYER will pay the return shipping. But please don’t expect a refund for simple buyer’s remorse or your own negligence that caused damage to the saw!
