When I refurbish a saw, I start by addressing any mechanical issues it may have. I replace any parts missing or worn out. Items such as air filters, sprockets, fuel lines, spark plugs, fuel filters, etc…will not be re-used if they are worn out! Once the saw is running properly, I tear it down and thoroughly clean all the parts. This removes the years of grease and grime that restrict air-flow (which in a 2-stroke engine can be fatal). Once everything is cleaned, I re-assemble the saw and give it a final test-run. It’s not just a “clean it up to sell it quick”; the saw's are in good usable shape when I’m done with them! I’ve been working on old Homelite’s and McCulloch’s for over 15 years now. The upside for potential bidders is that I do this because I enjoy it and therefore you can rest assured that the work is done right!
